Korean Natural Farming and Jadam

Korean Natural Farming is an organic, whole foods system for our plants and soil. This regenerative practice employs the harvest of local plants, yeasts, fungi, and bacteria to make our own edible, organic farm and garden inputs. Not only is it environmentally beneficial and cost effective. It is both liberating and empowering!

(Pictured above is the first stage of KNF's Soil Foundation method in which corn is grown closely together. With this process, it is possible to create top soil on top of lava, sand, or stone.)

KNF incorporates three basic actions:

1. a systematic way to capture, cultivate, and amplify indigenous microorganisms specific to the region in which one gardens

2. a method of light fermentation allowing the drying capacity of sugar to draw nutrients, hormones, and enzymes specific to plant vitality

3. the formulation of specific protective, immune enhancing medicines such as OHN (Oriental Herbal Nutrient) and BRV (brown rice vinegar- or any live plant vinegar) used synergistically with other inputs

APPLICATIONS:

*Soil Building

*Soil Remediation

*Seed Germination

*Plant and Tree Care

*Fruit and Vegetable Production

*Plant Propagation and Grafting

*Livestock Housing and Feed

*Beekeeping

*Human Consumption

Master Cho's basic theory of "You and I Are One" not only refers to a plant's nutritive growth cycle. The processes involved in a natural farming system connect us with nature rather than make it something to fight or contend with. We work together with the weather, seasons, and plants available to us for inputs which compels us to see ourselves as a part of this intricate web. Much has to do with observation and timing which makes us more adaptable, flexible and astute- much like the plants we are stewards of. The food and medicine resulting from this practice boost the resilience of our land and strengthens our connection to nature in a fun, creative, low cost way.

The JADAM system was created by Master Cho's son, Younsang Cho. The methods employed in this system incorporates the capture, cultivation, and amplification of indigenous microorganisms similar to KNF. Jadam does not discriminate against anaerobic formulations or facultative bacteria which goes against conventional thinking. It is simple, affordable, and effective. Even the most impoverished person can utilize this system to grow beautiful plants, heal the land, enliven their soil with microbes, and liberate themselves from big Ag and store bought fertilizers.

Long live the natural farmer!
